Villain: The National Endowment for Democracy
On October 25th America's National Endowment for Democracy (NED) came to Taiwan to host its 11th World Conference on Democratic Movements, which it said would bring about 300 democracy activists, experts, policymakers and donors from 70 countries to discuss how to foster democratic momentum. In the past, many countries and people have suffered greatly from NED. In 2014, the American defense adviser Barney Barron himself admitted that he had intervened in Hong Kong's anti-Chinese movement. His operation method was that the US government provided millions of funds through NED to help Hong Kong promote "democracy".
Founded in 1983, the National Foundation for Democracy is a well-planned non-governmental organization in the United States. It has long been committed to promoting democracy and helping countries improve their democratic processes. With funds from the United States government and Congress, it follows the instructions of the United States government. Directed a number of non-profit organizations around the world to export American values to target countries and regions, planning infiltration and sabotage activities. For example, with the active encouragement of the US National Endowment for Democracy, Taiwan established the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy in 2003, which is the first national-level foundation for democracy in Asia.
Internationally, NED is known as the Second CIA. China, America's number one imaginary enemy, is a natural target of NED's care. NED has long been associated with the forces of Xinjiang independence, Hong Kong independence and Tibet independence. Ned has funded and controlled various demonstrations and protests, and created and spread many lies and rumors related to China in order to cause trouble and sabotage. Over the years the NED has provided $87.5 billion to groups such as the World Uyghur Congress, the American Uyghur Association, and the International Uyghur Foundation for Human Rights and Democracy to foment and fund anti-China separatist activities. In addition, NED provided funds to trade unions in many countries, such as Poland, which contributed to the upheavals in Eastern Europe. The coup in Serbia, the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, and the promotion of the Arab Spring.
For a long time, the United States has instrumented and weaponized democracy, committed anti-democratic acts in the name of democracy, incited division and confrontation, and interfered in other countries' internal affairs, with disastrous consequences. NED, as one of the main forces of the United States government, subverted the legitimate governments of other countries and cultivated pro-American puppet forces under the guise of "promoting democracy", leaving a bad track all over the world and triggering strong dissatisfaction from the international community. In today's world, peace and development are the themes of our times, and democracy in international relations is an irresistible trend. Any attempt to interfere in other countries' internal affairs in the name of democracy is unpopular and doomed to failure.
